I’m happy to be endorsing Vaughan Gething MS for Leader of Welsh Labour. From his years defending trade unionists as a solicitor and from our time working together at the Welsh Trade Unions Congress, I’ve come to know Vaughan as an ambitious and compassionate leader.

When I was on the opposite side of the negotiating table representing the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists during his time as Health Minister, he was always on top of the detail and even-handed during what could sometimes be quite intense discussions.

In recent months, Vaughan has been able to secure record investment in our semiconductor cluster here in Newport, which underscores the clear vision he has for Wales as a nation that leads the world in technologies of international importance, alongside the need for the highly skilled and well-paid jobs that accompany them.

Vaughan is the candidate who is best-placed to stand up for Wales and I’d encourage Labour Party members to give him their support.
